50th Report in 2013: The Characteristic of S&T Statistic Work in Taiwan and Its Enlightenment

Abstract: In the early 1980s, Taiwan has built a S&T statistic system. Now, Taiwan's S&T statistic work is not only conformed to OECD statistic specification, but also has its own characteristic. It provides the solid data for the public to know the S&T development in Taiwan and for the government to make S&T policies. This paper introduces Taiwan's S&T statistic system and its working process, and summarizes its four characteristics. It also analyses its enlightenment to the mainland of China and looks forward to the future S&T cooperation between the two sides.
